Our mission is the enhancement and promotion of the rich paleontological Miocene deposits existing in the municipality.

Over 100 years of paleontological research have enabled recover outstanding findings in both quantity (more than 80,000 traces) and in quality of conservation and uniqueness (identified more than 72 new species).

The palaeontological site Can Mata is a reference of international importance for the remains recovered from primates. Among others Pierolapithecus catalaunicus Anoiapithecus brevirostris. and Pliobates cataloniae
